FIFA 08 TIPS AND ADVICE

A topic heavily requested.. lol

here everyone can post their advice, teamsheets, tips, hints, and even any cheats they know..

OR, if you keep getting beat by the same kinda goals or the same moves i will give you a solutions or two to sort it out..
i dont know everything otherwise i would be first so it'd b good if others have tips that i could maybe incorporate into my game also.


TACKLING:
when an attacker is running at you, you may find your defender go running at him but end up running straight past him?? EASY solution:

1.HOLD L2. this will make your defender face the attacker. stand away from the attacker (not too far or they'l pass round you)
2. Back away from striker so they have to make a move to beat you
3. as soon as they make the move like a trick or a change in direction or pace, hold X as well as L2 and get the tackle in.

good times to hold L2...
1.-when people keep putting low crosses from the wings and scoring cheap goals.. if you face the winger the cross will often hit you and prevent the easy goals
2.-when you are the last man. you must keep a large distance between you and the striker and then using L2 you will cause the guy to slow down and think about what to do next, while the striker is thinking your other defenders will come running back.

i hold L2 as i make about 90% of my tackles, its the only way to prevent ppl like ronaldo just running past you..

if you want to score goals from distance, run straight, facing the goal. while running head-on towards the goal hold R2 so the ball is slightly infront of you and power up about 50% (yellow power) and you should see dipping shots on target if you just aim as if you were carrying on running towards the net

finishing, a 45 degree turn to the nearest wing followed by R1 + a tap of O will see you place the ball calmly round the keeper.

chipping. if your really wide and you cant beat the keeper. chip the ball- (L1 + O) from about the corner of the 6yard box and the keeper wil flap helplessly as the ball glides over his net into the far corners

scoring from distance part 2: anyone who played fifa07 wil have made use of the precision shot, in 07 you could score goal after goal from the halfway line just by holding R1 and firing up the shot. this is still possible in 08 but much harder. you want to be about 30 yards out and cutting inside from the wing at about a 45degree angle, then hold R1 and shoot about 60/70% power and the ball should go round/over the keeper.

To Cross the Ball

only do this when there is only 3 def of players and sometimes 4 but it wont work that often if there is 4

first you get the ball with your CF then Hold L1 and press x to pass the ball to your RF or LF as soon as you get the ball Hold L1 and press triangle the rest is up to you how to score

one-two's win games.

holding L1 as you press X will make the passer sprint up the field, keep holding L1 as you swap passes between the players and keep makeing progress up the field-watch for the offside on the final pass though!


chips over the back line...

lampard has the ball.. tap L1 and drogba (or whoever your pointing at) will make a direct run. hold L1 and TRIANGLE just as Drogba reaches the defenders and you will float a ball behind the defenders which most strikers will win. to increase the strikers chance of winning the ball use the right analogue stik to bring the ball down.

long passes...

to increase your chance of a successful long pass-play it short. aim your power lower than you'd expect, the reciever will then have to run towards the ball and if you tap X earli the reciever will jump towards the ball and always win the header and knok it down for a nearby players

bruno is dead right. if your up against it and you need a goal, crosses are a good way to score.

to add to that-if you tap the cross button rapidly 3 times the cross will be fired in low making it much easier to score if it reaches the FWD

pick your fastest players...

i play as chelsea often and play wright-phillips at RB even though he is rate 58 in that position. he can then stop wingers like ronaldo etc getting to the byline to cross in easily.

4-3-3 is best formation by far on 08 no matter what team you are in my opinion. i beat ranked no.1 on EURO 2008 by playing this team.....

i also won games on fifa by playing anelka and drogba as centre backs with malouda and essien at fullbacks. pace and power are only attributes that matter this year.

fifa09 will change all this though!
