Dida: I'm In Debt To Milan
Dida’s 2007/08 season with the Rossoneri was nothing short of disastrous, and there have been constant reports in the press that he will be sold this summer.
The first half of the Brazilian’s campaign was ridden with gaffes, including a costly one in the Milan derby defeat to Inter before Christmas.
The 34-year-old eventually lost his place to Zeljko Kalac in January, and did not feature again for the remainder of the campaign.
Despite all the rumours it now seems likely that Dida will stay at Milan for the coming season, and he has promised to try and win back the club’s trust in him.
"I feel in debt to Milan, the club and my team-mates,” Dida was quoted as saying in the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, after taking part in a Goal4Africa charity match in Germany yesterday to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.
“I cured my back and finally I'm fine. The bad period is behind me now. I start off by competing against the others and will try to win back the trust.
“For me, Milan is important and I will give everything for this team."
Dida will compete with Christian Abbiati and Kalac for the Milan number one jersey this coming season.
