Belhadj eyes Celtic switch

Post by Guest on Fri Jul 11, 2008 12:14 pm

Nadir Belhadj has admitted he would welcome a summer move to Celtic.

The Lens left-back, who can also operate down the flank, has already sampled the atmosphere generated by the Bhoys' Old Firm foes Rangers.

Belhadj was an unused substitute for former club Lyon during their 3-0 UEFA Champions League victory at Ibrox in December.

And having spoken to Rangers' Brahim Hemdani about life in Scotland he is eager to join his Algeria international team-mate at the home of the Gers' Glasgow rivals.

Lens have been relegated from Ligue 1 in France and Belhadj is eager to secure a move away.

Atmosphere
He told the Daily Record: "Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and that is the sort of level I want to be at.

"I have spoken a lot about life in Scotland with Brahim, who loves it there.

"It was a special atmosphere at Ibrox and I gather it's better at Celtic."
